Way to go Manda!!!
NEWARK, DE -- Kimmy Schlezes and Amanda Warrington propelled the University of Delaware field hockey team to an impressive 8-2 victory over Monmouth at Rullo Stadium on Wednesday night.
What a day....
Ok here's a lil info....the kids bus # changed, when they went to the development down the road Madi was responsible enough to tell the monitor and they called Ma and Pa to tell them they would be dropped off in a few minutes. All is well now....
Also found out tonight that Jake fell asleep in Chinese class on Friday.
The school nurse called to tell me that the illegal flip flops Madi was sent to school in broke and she needed a new pair a shoes for the day...that was at 945 this morning....
so it has been an eventful day but we finished our homework, ate, cleaned up, finished the dishes, dishwasher loaded and ran, laundry, got gas and made it to my game in time and i enjoyed my 1 inning until my replacement showed up Yippee!!!!
p.s. I had nothing to do with the chinese nap hour, illegal flip flop mishap or the bus switching issue...Yea!!! You just gotta laugh!!! (when things work out in the end that is....there wasn't a lot of laughing going on when I was finding things out!!!)

My old man....

My sweet old man went to his PSU game w/ Dale and he was up for at least 22 hours....way to go honey!!!! (He got in a lil after 5am...we aren't use to those hours anymore...)
Oh and Jake was crying this morning...because I told him that Alex couldn't come tonight because he (Jake) wouldn't go to bed on time last night, then he wouldn't ride in his booster seat nor would he wash his feet again since me stormed outside w/o shoes on.....needless to say he learned his lesson!

1st day of school 2007

Today was the first day of school, Madi 4th grade, Jake 1st grade. Madi woke with bad breath kisses and huggies as usual and then followed me into Jake's room (who was in the bathroom at this point after his smelly kisses and huggies....she stated that this year she is going to get along with Jake. She leaves to brush her teeth and I continue to iron and Jake comes in and says, "Mommy, we both brushed our teeth at the same time and we didn't even fight!!!" Jake changed his mind again and wanted to buy...I stuck a dollar in his pocket and said that's your final answer!!!! Madi packed, Jake didn't want to eat...tummy hurt...Madi had bacon. We had our photo shoot. Went to see Granny and Gramps and then to meet Daddy and Joy at school at 745....which turned into 757....they greeted some of their friends and teachers and then were released into their day to catch up with friends and meet new people and do some work!!!!! Madi had art. Jake had Music...he played instruments. He was more excited about the snack....gummies (he rattled off the name of every character.) Pizza for lunch. He also stated that he almost had 2 recess times. He was to draw a picture and write a story but he didn't finish...Madi had homework, read for 15 mins and go on a math website. The website wasn't compatible w/ her dad's computer so they had her on another site for a few minutes. That's all I know...Jake has gym tomorrow. Madi doesn't know what special she has.
Our Penn State trip with the kids......
Jake kept asking if he was going to buy lunch at the game....we promised him YES....so we walked from the truck through the mounds of trash and passed the dunk swearing tailgaters ....made it to the stands and began walking up. Jake kept commenting on the height that we were traveling to. Before we went to our seats we of course bought lunch and we even let Madi eat this time....Madi pretzel, Jake nachos....that all oh and Mountain Dew!!!! WE make our way up to our seats and Jake....5 feet behind me clinging to the railing in the itty bitty stairs/walkspace (which if you see the people at the game you wonder how and the hell did they fit!!! Oh and they stink too!!!) At the top Jake starting bawling....he and I went back down....so here is a picture of our make shift seat until....the bouncing....Jake didn't like it and he didn't understand why they had to do it....I told him "Honey, these people don't get out much...see what has happened to their lives....sad, huh?" We then traveled to the ground level....then Alex and Madi met up with us about ten minutes left in the half. And then we finally left.....walked around and went shopping)

After Jake's pic w/ the statue...he turned the players in the background and Joe Pa...into Giraffes!!!! He also casted spells on them.....then he turned a boulder into a statue of me....

Ok.....well a 6 hour trip up and 5.5 hours coming back....makes for a long day! The kids did very well!!!! We only had 2 stops at Wawa and a McD's on the way up....and against Jake's wishes they were only to satisfy his bathroom needs not his hunger needs. (we didn't starve them....they snacked and we did limit their intake because that would mean more stops.) On the way back we made 1 stop at a McD's before we got in the truck, and the McD's in Harrisburg...and yes we let them eat and then dinner when we got home....Jake is an excellent McDonalds and Wawa finder!!!!
This was the one thing Jake wanted to see at Penn State
...the "Nittany Lion"
Truck entertainment...Garfield
